EYE’s collection comprises more than 700,000 photographs, slides, negatives, lobby cards and postcards. Altogether these form a reflection of Dutch cinema culture in which, historically, foreign films have also played a major role. By far, the biggest part of the photography collection consists of stills.
EYE holds a number of special still collections, including one from Dutch photographer Dick van Maarseveen and Studio Merkelbach. In addition to film stills and portraits, the Institute also has photographs from sets, film premieres and film festivals.
