EYE will be presenting 40 comedies from the early teens at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York. In this exclusive episode of the Cruel and Unusual comedy series, 6 programs will be presented around the themes "sexual misconduct", "tales of madness", ''mass destruction",  ''science fiction", "musical comedy" and "domestic abuse".

The selection of films is drawn from the famous Desmet Collection and includes next to famous comedians like Sarah Duhamel, Maurice Schwartz, Max Linder, Gigetta Morano, Marcel Perez, also a number of films with comedians who are completely forgotten and still unidentifed.

The screenings are all accompanied by live music. EYE silent film specialist Elif Rongen-Kaynakci will introduce the first three screenings (March 15th and 17th 2012)
