EYE, designed by Vienna-based Delugan Meissl Associated Architects, was officially opened two weeks ago by HRH Queen Beatrix. Starting from 5 April and lasting a week, EYE welcomed visitors to take part in the opening festival and experience the specially prepared exhibition Found Footage: Cinema Exposed.
One of the highlights of the opening festival was the world premiere of the Dutch silent movie De Bertha (1913). The festival also offered the public a cross section of EYE’s future programming. Guests from all parts of the world and all ages were drawn by the wide range of activities and varied programming.
