Sunsets Open Air Festival in the Vondelpark

This summer will be the last time the Sunsets Film Festival will take place in the Vondelpark. Come and watch classics, road movies, comedies and vampire films one last time in the Vondelpark before EYE moves to its new location.

In honour of Jack Nicholson – the subject of EYE’s two-month-long summer programme – Easy Rider will be screened; Nicholson delivers a memorable performance as the alcoholic lawyer George Hanson who cheerfully tries to keep his hangovers under control and smokes his first joint.

Fans of classic romances can indulge themselves in Brief Encounter by David Lean. In one of the most romantic films ever, Trevor Howard and Celia Johnson shine in this story of impossible love. And for those who love French realism and physical comedy, there’s Bienvenue chez les Ch’tis, Dany Boon’s portrait of a Provençal family that is banished to ‘the North’ and slowly manages to shed its prejudices about the country – in the local chippy.
