Eye has four cinemas: Cinema 1 with 315 seats, Cinema 2 (flexible set-up) & 3 both with 130 seats, and Cinema 4 with 67 seats. Each cinema has its own style and big screen. The Foyer with its own bar is perfect for a drink reception or a walking dinner. For smaller events, Eye has four rooms with spectacular views that are ideal for presentations, workshops, and meetings: Waterfront, IJ-Lounge, Room at the Top & Studio. The Arenaplateau, in the middle of the museum, can be used for a drink reception up to 50 people.
Eye bar-restaurant is located in the so-called 'Arena', the open space in the middle of the museum, that is freely accessible to all visitors. This area with the restaurant is opened daily until 1 or 2 a.m.. An event in the Arena is only possible with an exclusive rental of the entire building. Due to Eye's function as a museum, this can only happen a few times a year. We will be happy to inform you about the possibilities.
Eye bar-restaurant does not have rooms to have a private meeting, lunch or dinner.
There are three day parts: morning from 8 a.m. until noon, afternoon from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. and evening from 6 p.m. until 11 p.m. For example, if your event lasts from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. two day parts need to be booked. If you would like to rent the space for a longer period, we charge an hour-fee for the first hour and after that the full day part.
Included with the cinemas: projector, cinema screen, standard sound & theatre lighting, Eye-furniture (lectern, tables, standing tables and chairs), a wired microphone and regular cleaning.
Included with Room at the Top, Waterfront, IJ-Lounge & Studio: Eye furniture (lectern, low tables, high tables, and chairs), a flipchart, basic event support and regular cleaning.
Besides the rental of the rooms, we can also provide extra products or services, e.g. catering, staff, boat cruises, guided tours and (extra) audiovisual equipment. This is optional and not included in the room rental.
Due to our regular film screenings and public function, the availability of the cinema rooms is limited in the evenings and weekends. Cinema 1 through 4 can usually only be rented during the week and maximum until 5 p.m. The other rooms are available in the evenings.
Eye is a museum, so we kindly ask you to let us know beforehand what kind of decoration or promotion you will bring. If you would like to attach something to the wall or floor, this always needs to be approved first. Banners, flags, stands, posters, et cetera are not allowed in public areas. In the rooms the possibilities are numerous. We would be happy to put you in touch with our supplier Promo Groep. They can assist you with customized branding products.
In IJ-Lounge, Waterfront, Room at the Top and Studio you can make use of the audiovisual set, including a laptop, projector, screen and speakers for 100,- euro excl. VAT for a day part. In Waterfront a white wall is used for the projection.
It is possible to expand this package with microphones. Maximum two microphones can be connected to the speakers. If you would like more than two microphones in the meeting room, a sound system needs to be installed and an audio technician will be present during the event. There will be additional costs for this.
Select Catering is our exclusive caterer, so it is not possible to choose another caterer. Eye is proud of the cooperation with Select Catering because of the good quality and service and we would like to show that to all our guests.
Catering up to 100 people will be provided by Eye Banqueting, an initiative from Select Catering, but housed in Eye. From 100 people Select Catering will take care of the catering. Please feel free to request a quotation from them. Of course we can also put you in touch for a customized quotation.
Eye bar-restaurant is a separate restaurant in the middle of the museum. They do not provide catering in other spaces. With a small group, you are more than welcome for drinks, lunch or dinner for example. We recommend to reserve a table.
For events in the rooms, the Foyer, or the Arenaplateau, catering will be provided by our exclusive caterer Select Catering or Eye Banqueting.
BeamSystems is the preferred supplier of Eye. They have worked on all big events with us since the opening and ensure that everything concerning AV runs smoothly. They take care of all technical concerns and your advantage is their knowledge of our building and spaces. Your contact person can advise you when extra AV from BeamSystems is needed.
Yes, there is an open social Wi-Fi connection available, which can be used by all visitors in Eye. This is limited in its up- and download speed. For events we recommend a faster, private connection. An extra Wi-Fi hotspot will be installed for this against payment.
There are 200 parking spaces in the adjacent parking garage of the A’DAM Tower (navigate to Overhoeksplein 1). The costs are € 1,15 per 20 minutes and the garage is open 24 hours per day. You can reserve up to 25 parking spots via the website of A’DAM Parking. If you would like to reserve for 25 to 80 cars, please contact your event manager. This needs to be requested minimum 10 days before the event date.
The closest alternative, Parking Centrum Oosterdok, is located next to Amsterdam Central Station. This garage has almost 1400 parking spots. The costs are € 20,- per 24 hours, with a minimum parking duration of 5 hours.
Yes, this is possible at the landing stage at the front of the building, close to the stairs of the main entrance. Boats cannot stay there.
Eye does not have hotel rooms. However, we can advise you about nearby possibilites.
There are various possibilities. For example with a word of welcome from Eye, a video about Eye that is shown during your event, or a tour about the architecture or through the changing exhibition. It is also possible to show unique footage from our Collection Center. Would you like something active and would you like to learn more about film? Then we recommend a creative workshop.
Yes, our building is a wedding location. Our meeting rooms can be used for your wedding reception, dinner or party as well.
