IDFA 2019

20 November - 1 December 2019

IDFA 2019 is just around the corner! From November 20 to December 1, more than three hundred documentary films, interactive projects, and live events will be shown at locations all over Amsterdam, including Eye. The program includes premieres and competitions, films by leading filmmakers and emerging talents, a new media exhibition, and many international guests.

This year's Guest of Honor is Patricio Guzmán, who will attend the festival alongside a retrospective of his oeuvre and a curated program of his Top 10 favourite films. In a special Filmmaker Talk, Guzmán will be interviewed extensively about his own work and his influences.

Renowned filmmakers Sergei Loznitsa, Elena Marazzi, Maciej Drygas, and Mohsen Makhmalbaf, among others, will also come to Amsterdam to discuss their work.

IDFA DocLab, IDFA's program for new media, expands this year to various locations with a large exhibition, live events, and VR works. Notable examples include the VR experience Ayahuasca - The Shamanic Exhibition on display at Eye.
