Cinedans - Best of 2018 & Award Ceremony

On the last day of the festival, Cinedans presents a sneak preview of the international film programme, Cinedans on Tour ‘18, featuring all of this year’s winning films. Open your eyes, ears and heart for a selection of the best shorts of Cinedans 2018.

Afterwards Cinedans will announce the winners of the Cinedans Dioraphte Awards and the Audience Award. The Dioraphte foundation will grant € 5.000,- for the first price and € 1.000,- for the second price. All of the winners will be included in the international tour programme.

JURY

Gitta Wigro is a freelance dance film programmer and speaker based in London. She is a programmer for the Screendance Competition at the Leeds International Film Festival, and a guest lecturer at the new Screendance MA at London Contemporary Dance School. She is also co-director of Independent Dance, an artist-led organisation providing a responsive, stimulating space for artists in their ongoing development as professionals.

Janica Draisma is multidisciplinary artist, scriptwriter and director. With a background in dance, theater and visual arts, her work knows many forms of expression. Film often times proves to be a red thread. Her dance films were shown at Cinedans en won many prizes at various festivals.

Martin Butler is an interdisciplinary artist and stage director. He was trained in Drama at Manchester University and Choreography at the SNDO in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. His work combines dance, theatre, music, film, new media, and fashion, and explores the new dramatic that the combination of different genres facilitate. His work is performed at various theatres and festivals internationally.
