Eye Artist en Scholar-in-Residence Week: Poëzie van Buitengewone Perceptie

Patricia Pisters, Professor of Film and Media Studies at the University of Amsterdam and Eye Scholar-in-Residence, delved into Eye’s collection in search of images that explore the line between fiction and reality, ‘on the border of the ordinary and the extraordinary’. Some of the works to have inspired Pisters are the films by artist Ansuya Blom. Blom talks about her work with Pisters and will show five films. Free admission.

Eye Artist and Scholar-in-Residence Programme

The Eye Artist and Scholar-in-Residence Programme was launched in 2017 and aims to stimulate research into and reuse of the collection and to promote cross-fertilisation between film, arts, and sciences. For the second edition, Eye has invited artist Aimée Zito Lema and scholar Patricia Pisters to work with collection material at the Eye Collection Centre. The programme is sponsored by Ladies Eye and FC Waterboys.

Eye Artist and Scholar-in-Residence Week 2019

The Eye Artist and Scholar-in-Residence Week (December 2 to 8), marks the end of the 2018-2019 edition of the residency programme. This week will include a lecture by scholar Patricia Pisters on Monday December 2 at 16:30h alongside a screening of five films by Ansuya Blom (free admission). On Tuesday December 3 at 19.15h there will be a special programme with artist Aimée Zito Lema who will present the film '214322'  which she created during her residency at Eye. Together with invited guests Amal Alhaag and Daniela Agostinho, Zito Lema will present an evening investigating the margins of the archive. For more information and tickets, click here.

From December 2 to 8, Aimée Zito Lema’s work '214322', film and photographs, will also be exhibited in the Eye Project Space (free admission).
