The year is 1425, the Hundred Years’ War is raging and the English are lording it over the French. Jeannette is only eight years old and already she feels a burning desire to liberate her country. Jeannette will one day grow up to become Joan of Arc. Director Bruno Dumont shows her early years as a young girl tending sheep in a sparkling, punky musical set in the dunes of northern France.
