Memory, Exile, Travel: Ouroboros

An evening that takes us from Beirut,  Lebanon’s Beqaa Valley, Gaza and Jerusalem to Spitsbergen, Iceland, Brittany and the Mojave Desert. Featuring films by artists who look at landscapes from the perspective of recollection and exile, such as Basma Alsharif’s experimental film Ouroboros (2017) and Mira Adoumier’s visual essay Errans (2019, at 19.15).

The evening is curated by Nat Muller, guest curator of the exhibition Trembling Landscapes: Between Reality & Fiction. With an introduction by Lara Khaldi. Lara Khaldi is a cultural worker based between Jerusalem and Amsterdam. She is an alumna of the de Appel curatorial programme, Amsterdam, and the European Graduate School, Switzerland. She has collaborated often with Al Ma’mal Art Foundation in Jerusalem, Khalil Sakakini Cultural Center, Ramallah and Sharjah Art Foundation. Until recently she was the head of the Media Studies Program at Bard Al Quds, Jerusalem. She is currently a member of the artistic team for documenta fifteen. Followed by a Q&A with Basma Alsharif.
