Ugetsu monogatari

A potter tries to survive in a war-torn medieval village. He encounters a magical princess who introduces him to a land of sensual enticements. This lyrical evocation of the Japanese landscape with its misty lakes and mountains is screened as part of the Andrei Tarkovsky film programme. 4K restoration.

Restored by The Film Foundation and KADOKAWA Corporation at Cineric Laboratories in New York. Special thanks to Masahiro Miyajima and Martin Scorsese for their consultation on this restoration.
