Amsterdam Spanish Film Festival
This year the Amsterdam Spanish Film Festival (ASFF) celebrates its fifth anniversary. The festival shows the latest in Spanish cinema from the past year through a selection of the most original, the most interesting, and the most impressive Spanish films. This year the festival will take place in Pathé Tuschinski, Pathé de Munt, Eye and Cinecenter.
In the special double bill program The Passage of Time, ASFF pays tribute to Isaki Lacuesta by screening two of his films: La leyenda del tiempo (The Legend of Time) and Entre dos aguas (Between Two Waters). La leyenda del tiempo is a mix between documentary and fiction about the life of two siblings, Isra and Cheíto, their expectations, desires and development with the two grandmasters of flamenco in the (musical) background. In Entre dos aguas, we once again see the two brothers, but 12 years later this time.
Within the Focus Latino section, a showcase dedicated to discovering and celebrating Latin American cinema by introducing an interesting variety of films, we are particularly honoured to present the première Tarde para morir joven, directed by Dominga Sotomayor.
Amsterdam Spanish Film Festival is a unique initiative that gives a broad audience in The Netherlands the opportunity to immerse themselves in a careful selection of Spanish cinema and Spanish-language films from Latin-America. ASFF is organized and programmed by Sin Fin Cinema and offers visitors not just an overview of the newest trends in mainstream Spanish cinema but also considers independent, artistic and experimental Spanish and Spanish-language films.
