Eye’s Cinemini opens especially for preschoolers and their parents. Every Sunday morning (except for the summer holiday period), children aged 2 to 6 are treated to a film, followed by experiments with light and shadow in small play tents.
Cinemini is regularly sold out. To avoid disappointment, buy your tickets online in advance.
Eye’s finest and most intimate film theatre is a great place for children aged 2 to 6 to experience their first cinema visit. Every Sunday from 10.30-11.00, Eye’s Cinemini theatre presents outstanding short films and animations, often from Eye’s own rich collections.
Cinemini is a collaboration between Eye and De Taartrovers, a small collective organizing interactive cultural activities for kids. All screenings are briefly introduced by De Taartrovers.
playing with light and shadow
After the screening, kids are invited by De Taartrovers to play with light and shadow in small play tents and on a large lightbox.
In this intimate lightscape, children can explore how light creates shadow images. Where does an image come from, how does it disappear into thin air, become larger or smaller or takes on different shapes? What sort of stories do they inspire in children? What do they see in these shapes?
For adults, the shadow is something ordinary, but for children, a shadow may be a magical thing turning grown-ups into giants.
admission and access
Admission for children is €7,50, including lemonade. Admission for parents, grandparents and other companions is €5,00 per person. A "child-in-lap" ticket costs €11,00. Cineville is valid for adults.
