Collection Day

May 27: restored films from the collection

On EYE’s annual Collection Day we screen recently restored films from the collection, both historical films from the Netherlands and international productions. All screenings are introduced by EYE’s curators, who will also talk about the film museum’s special collections.

How do you present film material that can hardly stand the test of time due to changing technological conditions or screening contexts? On Collection Day, EYE curators explain how film history comes alive through the use of new technologies and various presentation possibilities, based on films from the collection. ‘Wayward’ film material once more comes into its own.
