Eye on Sound
What would Sergio Leone’s films be without Ennio Morricone’s world-renowned scores? And what remains of Blade Runner without Vangelis’ unworldly synthesizers? Who doesn’t immediately think of Miles Davis’ languid nocturnal jazz in the case of Ascenseur pour l’échafaud? Music and sound are an essential part of film experience. In fact, they are vital to the magic of film experience.
Eye focuses on the dynamic relationship between sound and vision in four theme programmes: Eye on Sound: Tales Of The Future, Eye On Sound: Live, Eyeshadow and Eye On Sound: Theme. Together they are Eye on Sound, a series on the importance of film sound and live film accompaniment.
Experience historical film scores played by classical instruments, newly written scores to recently released films performed by contemporary musicians and live performances to follow the screening of contemporary classics or theme specials.
