Thein Shwe and Htwe Tin live in the Magway region of Myanmar, the country with one of the oldest petroleum industries in the world. The couple run an unregulated oil field where they produce a barrel every few days. Their biggest dream is for their youngest son to be successful and rise out of poverty. He is a talented footballer and dreams of a professional career, but his parents would rather he went to school.

Before the main film, you will see the short film (4') Crops by Gerco de Ruijter from 2012. Crops is a stop-motion film about circular irrigation. In the United States, this type of irrigation is widely used.
