Who are the filmmakers of the future? New talents present their work, inspiration, dreams and ideals. Today: Aisha Madu and Emma Branderhorst.

Illustrator and animation director Aisha Madu (1992) graduated from HKU University of the Arts Utrecht in 2014 with the short animated series Bodily Disfunctions, won the VPRO Dorst Pitch and previously made the animated series Schroom. She also co-animated Yung Nnelg’s clip Testuo.
Emma Branderhorst graduated from the HKU in 2019 and directed the short film Femme (2017). Her subsequent short film Onderhuids was in the selection of Berlinale Generation 2020. She also won the NFF Wildcard (€50,000) for the best student fiction film. Her new film Vlekkeloos will premiere at the upcoming Netherlands Film Festival.
