Director Laura Poitras (Oscar for Citizen Four) follows photographer and activist Nan Goldin’s fight against the wealthy Sackler family in the USA who she holds responsible for the opioid crisis.
Despite the opioid crisis still causing daily deaths, the Sackler family remain major sponsors of museums around the globe. Nan Goldin demonstrates how art can be used as a weapon and tries to have her protests resound in the museums’ spaces.

Before All the Beauty and the Bloodshed you'll see the two-minute stop motion animation Still life with woman, tea and letter (2022) by Tess Martin in which a woman writes a letter and someone else reads it. This Ultrakort was made as part of Ultrakort, the annual project of the Netherlands Film Fund in collaboration with Vue and the NFO.
