Als twee druppels water
Fons Rademakers / NL, 1963 / 116 min.
Just like author W.F. Hermans, Fons Rademakers has always been fascinated by human behaviour during World War II. In this adaptation of Hermans' novel The darkroom of Damocles – now wonderfully refurnished on 35mm – Rademakers explores the motif of the double and the wartime boundaries between right and wrong.

The somewhat shy tobacconist Ducker (Osewoudt in the book) is impressed by the British parachutist Dorbeck. He looks just like Ducker, who – subconsciously – models his life after his unusual double.
