Any Way the Wind Blows
Tom Barman / BE, 2003 / 127 min.
dEUS singer Tom Barman garnered attention with his direction of the playful film Any Way the Wind Blows, the action of which is driven by music from the likes of Squarepusher and Charlie Parker. Eight characters rove around Antwerp.

The camera tracks the experiences of eight young people in Antwerp who, connected only tangentially, all end up at the same party. Barman is able to capture the feel of the city and these people in short, fast episodes; the dialogue, editing and soundtrack are rhythmically geared to one another.
Dutch premiere in 4K restoration (Cinematek, Brussels).
