Project Crossroads (US 1949, 42')
Black-and-white film released by the United States Departments of Energy and Defense which accurately captures two nuclear tests from 1946. The aim was to investigate the devastating effect on equipment, in particular on battleships.

La jetée (Chris Marker, FR 1962, 28')
A short post-apocalyptic film considered by many to be the masterpiece of film essayist Chris Marker. A series of still, black-and-white images tell the story of a time traveler who has been sent from the post-World War III future to save the present.
