A.I. Artificial Intelligence
Steven Spielberg / US, 2001 / 146 min.
Stanley Kubrick and Steven Spielberg dive into the dystopian future. The polar icecaps have melted, Manhattan is under water, and human beings are to be replaced by robots. David is one of these: a cute AI boy who is adopted by a human couple.

Henry and Monica Swinton have a son, Martin, who has a rare disease that means he has to rely on life support. In the meantime, the android David acts as a perfect replacement: he is almost indistinguishable from a human, and has been programmed to love his mother, Monica, very much indeed – and forever.
Screens on a 35mm print from the Eye collection.
