Badlands
Terrence Malick / US, 1973 / 93 min.
Terrence Malick’s infamous debut Badlands: the film that lends its title to Eye’s programme of new film talent. Martin Sheen and Sissy Spacek flee towards freedom in the 'badlands' of Wyoming.

For his directorial debut, Malick drew inspiration from the story of the Starkweather-Fugate murders from the 1950s, when a fifteen-year-old girl and her boyfriend, ten years older, set off on a killing spree through the ‘badlands’ of Nebraska and Wyoming.
