Bull's Heart
Eva Stefani / GR, 2025 / 79 min.
A study of the nature of creation, Bull’s Heart follows renowned director and choreographer Dimitris Papaioannou during the preparations of his performance Transverse Orientation.

Why do we do what we do? In the documentry Bull’s Heart this question is explored by reflecting on art as a form of resistance to life’s transience. Inspired by the myth of the Minotaur, and filmed during rehearsals at Onassis Stegi in Athens throughout the pandemic, and during performances in Paris, London, Vilnius and San Francisco, the film observes the dynamics that arise within a work of art—revealing moments of doubt and uncertainty alongside trust, hope in times of crisis, and loss transformed into creation.
Bull’s Heart has been a worldwide success: toured 31 cities and reached over 80,000 audience members worldwide.
