Carlos Reygadas is one of the trailblazers of contemporary slow cinema, and grants his audience lots of space in which to form their own thoughts. The viewer is also at the heart of his installation Vive le cinéma! During this evening, film journalist Jan Pieter Ekker and IFFR programmer Gerwin Tasma will discuss Carlos Reygadas’ work: including the politics of looking at the other, and how directing our gaze towards another also makes us visible.
