Cinedans - New Dutch

What’s on Dutch dancefilmmakers minds? What inspires them? An overview of recent homegrown work.

Following this programme is a screening of three films of Act! Cut! Play!, a talent development project the Brakke Grond, FASHIONCLASH Maastricht and Fashion Museum Province of Antwerp, in collaboration with Cinedans.

Following the screening there will be a Q&A with some of the makers.

Multidentity Tycho Hupperets (NL 2015) 5'Multidentity playfully explores the ways in which our identity is shaped by clothing and movement.

Kali (première) Sabina Molenaar (NL/BE 2016) 11'Three women are looking for a harmonious balance between their longing for intimacy and the return to the “untouched”.

Amuse Ivo van Aart and Jonne Covers (NL 2016) 7”A large restaurant, full of people who are having a good time. Talking and listening to each other. At least, so it seems...

Weval - I Don”t Need It Regina Sepp and Marne van Opstal (NL 2016) 6'Short dancefilm about personal development. Marne van Opstal, dancer and choreographer at the NDT, dances to the electronic music of Weval.

State of Stillness Camiel Zwart and Tyler ter Meulen (NL 2016) 1”Late at night, in a deserted city, a young girls breaks the silence. Tonight, the city is hers.

iii Femke Huurdeman, Suze Milius and Marie-Sophie Beinke (NL 2016) 3”iii shows a world in which our senses create their own doppelgänger – hoping to compose one complete woman. It's time to reckon with this shit!

Your Approval is Not Essential Leen Michiels, Jelena Kostić, Philipp Schueller and Rens de Waal (NL 2016) 12'A coincidental meeting in the supermarket surfaces unexpected passion. A splash of colour suddenly fills the pale life of an ordinary woman.

The Parallel Pyramid Platform Daniel van Hauten, Emmanual A. Ryngaert and Studio Dennis Vanderbroeck (NL 2016) 9'The Parallel Pyramid Platform is a hyperaesthetic, humorous game show. Sixteen contestants are building an enormous pyramid - racing both with and against each other. Who will be the first to reach the top?
