Crash

David Cronenberg / CA, 1996 / 100 min.

What is a perverse cult film to some, is an extraordinary exploration of the relationship between Eros and Thanatos to others. David Cronenberg’s film adaptation of J. G. Ballard’s novel about a group of people who get a kick out of re-enacting fatal car accidents caused great controversy but also won the Special Jury Prize at the Cannes film festival. Cronenberg’s film – now a classic – has recently been digitally restored (4K).
