Wenders’ fascination with America was already obvious before Paris, Texas. His adaptation of Patricia Highsmith’s thriller Ripley’s Game is a tribute to American film noir, starring Dennis Hopper as the enigmatic title figure. The camera work is by Robby Müller, the subject of a dedicated exhibition in EYE this summer.
