Exceptionally designed, intimate play in which Roya, who has fled from Iran, finds herself facing a closed door. Slowly but surely, a poetic, verbal interplay arises between two people who have fled the same home country, but who have very different attitudes to life.
Roya, who has fled Iran and has now exhausted the possibilities for obtaining asylum, flees from the asylum-seekers’ centre to avoid being sent back to Iran. She knocks on a man’s door, then waits to be let in. But the door remains closed. What follows is a cleverly directed, intimate play that takes place almost entirely in the hallway of an apartment building – two lives separated by that door: shut in and locked out.
