Echoes of a Body of Work: De Châtel, Van Manen, Hauser & Hazekamp
Cinedans 2026: Echoes of a Body of Work: De Châtel, Van Manen, Hauser & Hazekamp
In this fourth program of the Dutch Dance Film Archive, we present a selection of remarkable films from different periods by Hans van Manen, Krisztina de Châtel, René Hazekamp and Dick Hauser.

In this program we have selected bold dance films that reveal the experimental and idiosyncratic power of these artists, and in which the collaboration between the director and the choreographer, as well as the innovative use of the camera led to exceptional cinematographic works.
The Dutch Dance Film Archive Project is an initiative by director Jellie Dekker and Cinedans, supported by Podiumkunst.net, Eye Filmmuseum Amsterdam, Beeld en Geluid and Pica Foundation. The aim is to establish a comprehensive inventory of dance films made in the Netherlands since 1920 and to make them centrally accessible. We also open up the archives by screening Dutch dance films to the public in various programs, placing them in a historical context.
