Editing Kieslowski + Rouge
Krzysztof Kieślowski: Editing Kieslowski + Rouge
Jean-Louis Trintignant and Irène Jacob excel as a grumpy, retired judge and the younng model who become friends against the odds. Afterwards, Catherine Cormon, Head of Collection Management at Eye, will discuss her cooperation with Kieslowski. She edited Trois couleurs: Bleu and Trois couleurs: Rouge with him.

Trois Couleurs: Rouge was the last film shot by great director Krzysztof Kieslowski, who died in 1996. A 4K restoration has now been made. Rouge is a fable about the, at first sight impossible, friendship between a retired judge (Trintignant) and a young model Valentine. The judge spends his days reminiscing about his life and spying on his neighbours, whose phone conversations he listens in on.
After this screening, Catherine Cormon, Eye's Head of Collection Management, talks about the analog editing process of Trois couleurs: Rouge, which she worked on in 1994 as an assistant to Krzysztof Kieslowski's editor.
