Classic scholar Emilie van Opstall introduces Fellini’s Satyricon with a talk (in Dutch) on the ‘most beautiful of all immortal gods’. Fellini transformed Petronius’ satirical novel into an overwhelming portrait of uninhibited pre-Christian times, before eroticism came to burdened by a New Testament sense of shame.
