In a healthcare system where the male body is still the standard, women with unexplained symptoms are often not heard, not believed, and not properly treated. Voices for Women, Noordse Vrouwen (part of Civic), and the Public Health Service of Amsterdam (GGD Amsterdam) jointly organise this free event Eva = geen Adam, to raise awareness about how women's bodies become ill in different ways.
Voices for Women advocates for structural change. The foundation gives women a voice, offers recognition and acknowledgment, and works towards a healthcare system that does justice to the female body. By collecting women's experiences, pooling knowledge, and actively collaborating with healthcare professionals and policymakers, Voices for Women strives for a healthcare system that is sensitive to the needs of women. The female body becomes ill in different ways — and deserves appropriate care.
