Eye Filmmuseum is op 7 april gesloten wegens ons jaarlijkse Filmbal

Thursday 7 April, we will celebrate two milestones at our annual Filmbal: the 10th anniversary of Eye Filmmuseum on the IJ and the 75th anniversary of the Filmmuseum. On April 4, 2012, Queen Beatrix opened the museum building on the river IJ. In 2021, we celebrated our 75th anniversary with a visit from Queen Máxima in June. She visited the Collection Center and launched Eye on Screens. With the theme The Future, we look ahead at the Filmbal and the museum building will be decked out in futuristic silver.

At the same time, we cannot and will not ignore what is happening in Ukraine. We ask all those invited to the Filmbal to make a donation to the ICFR emergency fund. Eye will double every donation. Proceeds will go to the International Coalition for Filmmakers at Risk (ICFR), an emergency fund created for film professionals directly at risk from the ongoing war in Ukraine. Film is a medium for stories that need to be told, which is more important than ever at the moment.
