Eye on Sound: Die Abenteuer des Prinzen Achmed

The list of female directors who are unknown to the larger public is a long one. One of them is Lotte Reiniger; the German animation filmmaker is regarded as one of the most talented pioneers in her field. With The Adventures of Prince Achmed, a true animation gem based on One Thousand and One Nights, she made one of the first feature-length animation films. With musical accompaniment by the West Side Trio.
