Eyeshadow: Trainspotting + Teddy's Hit
A proven classic combined with a happening band: this time a show by the Amsterdam trio Teddy’s Hit to accompany the most innovative film of the 1990s. Danny Boyle read the book by Irvine Welsh and produced a hyperenergetic, compelling and humoristic portrait of four druggies on the loose in Edinburgh. The show by Teddy’s Hit is bound to be equally energetic, with surging bass lines, slacky vocals and a drumming frontman.
Trainspotting was a sensation when it hit the screens in 1996: the editing was faster, more dynamic and exciting than anything that had ever gone on before.

Viewers were sucked into the darkly hilarious drug world of Renton, Begbie, Spud and Sick Boy to the beats of Underworld”s “Born Slippy”, Iggy Pop”s “Lust for Life” and songs by Blur and Pulp, only to exit again via the “worst toilet in Scotland”.
A number of heart-rending scenes notwithstanding, Trainspotting marked the rise of Tony Blair”s upbeat, neoliberal “Cool Britannia”, where grabbing what you could get was the normal thing to do.

The film”s energy will no doubt resonate in the garage beats of the Amsterdam indie trio Teddy”s Hit.
Kick, Tom and Casper bring a sound that”s melodious and crisp but behind the tasteful guitar licks and surging bass lines that keep you floating there are sudden breaks and openings that make room for clanging guitar riffs. Teddy”s Hit brings a dynamic show along the lines of bands like Ultimate Painting, Weezer and Ty Segall.
