Fando y lis

Fando y lis

Alejandro Jodorowsky / MX, 1968 / 93 min.

An evening based on the oeuvre of Chilean-born cult director Alejandro Jodorowsky (El topo, Holy Mountain), who moved to Mexico City in 1960. The nudity and crudity of his surrealist film debut Fando y Lis provoked outrage, and the film was banned in Mexico. With an introduction by Phil van Tongeren, former director of the Imagine Film Festival.
