Eye on Art: Felix de Rooy: Film and Art
Special edition of Eye on Art in collaboration with Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam about the work of Felix de Rooy and the parallels between his art and films. Our guests will be curator Charl Landvreugd (Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam) and journalist Guus Schulting. Featuring De Rooy’s short films Running 8/45, Muhe Frida and The Renny Show.

Felix de Rooy– APOCALYPSE
From 22 April until 3 September 2023, Stedelijk Museum presents five decades of artistry by the multi-talented Felix de Rooy, with film, theatre and visual art in myriad forms, from paintings and assemblages to (digital) collages and wall hangings. Far ahead of his time, De Rooy explored topics that remain relevant today, such as the continuing negative legacy of colonialism, everyday racism and the meaning of Afro-Caribbean and queer identities in art.
