Directors David Maysles, Albert Maysles and Charlotte Zwerin attend the two final concerts of the tour: the Madison Square Garden concert and, one week later, the free concert at San Francisco’s Altamont Speedway. The latter led to a clash between the 300,000 members of the ‘Love Generation’ and a dozen Hells Angels hired as security leading to the tragic death of 18-year-old Meredith Hunter who was stabbed to death.
