Glas, mijn onvervulde leven
Rogier Kappers / NL, 2023 / 94 min.
A 52-year-old man is still chasing his childhood dream: to become famous by playing a glass organ. This original, humorous self-portrait by Rogier Kappers was nominated for the IDFA Award for Best Dutch Documentary and has screened in the competition programmes of international festivals.
In this original, humorous self-portrait that meanders between hope, despair and heartache, we follow seven years in the life of protagonist Rogier Kappers. He wants to make the dream he had as a nine-year-old boy come true: to become famous after building an organ made up of singing glasses. Is Kappers irrepressibly optimistic or naïve and impulsive?
