Lea is the protagonist of a potential feature film she’s in the process of making. The photographer has been commissioned to document the energy transition in the Port of Amsterdam, getting to the bottom of local politics and interests. This drags up a tsunami of memories and associations for her. What started out as a commercial project, soon becomes intensely personal. Gradually, Digna’s own memories and Lea’s story start to intertwine.

Preliminary film

Before Hemelsleutel you will see the short film Reimerswaal (8') from 2004 by Clara van Gool. This short film from the Eye collection, based on the poem 'Reimerswaal' by Gerrit Achterberg, is about a crime passionel: a young man and woman dance a fateful duet in and under water.
