Four years before The Night Porter, Liliana Cavani made an original adaptation of Sophocles’ Antigone. The film is set in a city, rooted in sixties counter culture, and indicts repression and violence. Featuring the later Bond girl Britt Ekland as Antigone and Pierre Clémenti as Tiresias.
