Kaboom 2023: Kaboom Classics: Dollywood
This programme provides an exclusive look behind-the-scenes of Dollywood, the legendary Dutch puppet film studio.

Dollywood was one of the major animation studios in The Netherlands in the 1940s-1970s and made hundreds of television and cinema commercials for international audiences, many of which won prizes. In recent years, Eye Filmmuseum invested in the restoration and digitisation of not only the Dollywood film collection, but also preserved a unique collection of photos and original puppets and props. A selection of these beautiful archival objects will be showcased during Kaboom. The films have been selected by three special guests, who will also be present during the screening: Louise Geesink, daughter of Joop Geesink, the studios founding father; Arie den Draak, great connoisseur of Geesink's oeuvre, and Leenke Ripmeester, curator at Eye Filmmuseum.
Program curator: Mette Peters.
The films shown in this programme are either spoken or subtitled in English.
