Kirikou en de heks

Michel Ocelot / FR, BE, LU, 1998 / 74 min.

Fantastic animation based on a West African fairy tale, with great music by Youssou N'Dour. Kirikou is trying to break a curse and free his village from the grip of the witch Karaba.

poster Kirikou en de heks (Michel Ocelot, FR/BE/LX 1998)
It was obvious right from his birth that Kirikou is no ordinary child. He arrived in the world entirely unaided, cutting his own umbilical cord and immediately possessed of the gift of the gab. This attracts the attention of the witch Karaba, an evil character who turns her victims into passive, robot-like beings. There’s no other way out: Kirikou will have to confront her.
