Kiss of the spider woman

Kiss of the spider woman

Hector Babenco / US, BR, 1985

A gay man and a political activist find themselves thrown together in a cell in a South-American prison. The gay prisoner tries to escape from his dreary surroundings by recounting a film that greatly impressed him.

Poster 132

His contemptuous cellmate at first refuses to acknowledge him, but is gradually gripped by his “partner”s” imagination. Slowly the two men, so incompatible in real life, move towards each other in a process that makes the two more complete human beings.
