Koolhoven & Simons: Dutch Nostalgia Night

After decades of Dutch film production being dismissed as substandard by Dutch critics, it is time for a fair reassessment of our cinematic heritage. Koolhoven & Simons make the case for forgotten or underappreciated Dutch films, with Help! The Doctor is Drowning by the recently deceased Nikolai van der Heyde as a prime example. And as always, the special selection of trailers of forgotten films such as The Burglar and De Mantel der liefde should not be missed.

Part of

Koolhoven & Simons

Koolhoven and Simons will be scrutinising the genre film, presenting films within pretty forthright themes that have never before been screened at Eye. Expect evenings on Trucker, Grindhouse or Revenge of Nature films. A tribute to rarely screened trailers and forgotten classics, where possible in 35mm, using films from Eye’s collection.
