Journal dun cure de campagne 1

Le journal d'un curé de campagne

Robert Bresson only directed thirteen films in his long life (1901-1999). His third film, Diary of a Country Priest (1951) – one of Tarkovsky's favourite classics -, was at the same time the first one to bear the unmistakable signature of the later director of A Man Escaped and Pickpocket. A film based on the principle: ‘It is with something clean and precise that you will force the attention of inattentive eyes and ears’.
