Les amants réguliers
Philippe Garrel / FR, 2005 / 178 min.
Philippe Garrel was only twenty years old when he directed his feature film debut Marie for Memoryin 1968. Fifty years later the French New Wave’s posterboy took the Silver Lion at Venice for Regular Lovers, a film that looks back at the events of 1968. Garrel interweaves the excitement and thrill of the student revolt with the doomed love affair between the young poet François and Lilie, a ravishing Art Academy student. Everything had to change: the personal became political and vice versa.
