L'étranger
François Ozon / FR, 2025 / 122 min.
François Ozon adapted Albert Camus’ world famous 1942 novel 'L’étranger', about a random murder on an Algerian beach, in his own unique way. Erotic, confounding, brutal and icily captivating.

Algiers, 1938. Meursault, a quiet, inconspicuous man in his early 30s attends his mother’s funeral without shedding a tear. The following day he starts an affair with his colleague Marie, and rapidly returns to his old routines. However, his daily life is perturbed by his neighbour Raymond Sintès, who embroils Meursault in his shady dealings. Until, one boiling hot day, a fateful event takes place on the beach.
