Little Women
Greta Gerwig / US, 2019 / 134 min.
Winter 1861. Jo March approaches a publisher. She will and must bring her book to the attention. Not an easy thing to do at a time when men are in charge. Director Greta Gerwig sketches an epic portrait of Jo and her sisters, women who claim a place for themselves. The life of the American novelist Louisa May Alcott was Gerwig's inspiration. Nominated for six Oscar categories, including Best Film and Best Scenario.

An earlier film from 1949 by Mervyn LeRoy, from Alcott's novel Little Women or Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy (1868), can also be seen. Gerwig's solo debut film Lady Bird (2017) is also screened again.
